Liz & Rory: Watercolour Rose Ink Wedding Stationery
When I first met with Liz, she had consider DIY wedding invites & had lots of ideas about what she wanted her wedding invitations to look like, so we decided to start with some simple rose ink sketches and watercolour paintings that might form the basis of her wedding stationery. I drew a few different roses using a black ink fine liner, and then painted a few more delicate roses in watercolour paints to explore different colour options to match the bridesmaid dresses, and sent them off in the post for Liz & Rory to look at.
After selecting their favour rose drawing, the next step was to incorporate this into a design for the invitations themselves. Liz wanted a pale green & cream theme to her stationery, so we went with the mint metallic, ivory pearlescent and white matt card stock which complimented the hand painted floral designs really well and would made lovely wedding invitations. I created a mock invitation for Liz & Rory, complete with all the details of their special day, including inserts, hand painted detail all put together in a lovely pocket fold. They both loved the design, and so with just a few minor changes I went on to create a set of beautiful rose ink invitations. I, personally, am in love with this design and really enjoyed creating it. The invitations look stunning and are one of my favourite designs to date. Simple & elegant hand painted wedding invitations.
